The Maysville Connection
Recycling is a major issue for consumer’s and they expect corporate
citizens to reflect society’s concern for the environment. Some of Inland’s
customers had been concerned about the quality of boxes made from
100% recycled linerboard. Others were cautious—uncertain about the
availability of recycled boxes for their geographic area.
Solving the Puzzle
As with all things in life, good ideas always take a few twists and turns.
So, over several weeks, we sent puzzles, created by Blocks and
MarblesTM, packaged in premium quality boxes to demonstrate how
Inland’s customers can set the right course for their company’s packaging
needs with Advanced Recycling.
Inland’s marketing director had a very specific request, “I want this
promotion to spur our customer’s environmental leaders to get up, walk
down to their purchasing department and tell them to use our product.”
Within a week of the first of four mailings, he had received two calls
from customers saying that they were excited about this new product
and had just talked to their folks in purchasing.
Marketing Tools Created Include:
• Blocks and Marbles™ puzzles with laser engraved icons
• Premium boxes, screen printed to double as “game boards”
• Fact sheets including puzzle instructions
• Brochures
• Video on Advanced Recycling
This promotion received an ADDY award from the Advertising Club of
