Larry received his education, with a major in visual communications,
at John Herron Art Institute and the Atlanta College of Art. He began
his career as an illustrator for the U.S. Army where he was selected to
head the Graphic Arts Department for the Chief of Staff of the Army in
Washington D.C. In this position he designed collateral material and
visual presentations for the highest levels of the Department of Defense,
the U.S. Congress, and the President of the United States. Upon
completion of his tour of duty, Larry started working for the Department
of Defense as a civilian illustrator. In 1983 he joined the Big Picture
Company (BPC), a New Jersey firm specializing in Department of
Defense audiovisual contracts. As BPC’s Vice President/Creative Director,
Larry managed over 100 designers, illustrators, photographers, video
and film technicians, and model makers in three states. With the desire
to offer his design and illustration skills to corporate, agency, and
not-for-profit organizations, Larry decided to establish his own firm. On April
Fool's Day in 1986, Jensen Designs, Inc. was established.
Larry’s work has earned numerous local and national design awards
and has appeared in PRINT’s Regional Design Annual and PRINT’s
Best Logos & Symbols 4.
